Wormer Player, Member, Worms fan A player of Worms, member of Worms community, fan of Worms series.
Wormy Worms An adjective for anything that has to do with Worms.
Box Crate, Square, Space Crate is the term technically used by the game to refer to the objects that offer weapons, health and utilities, but some players call it using the word "Box". This happens usually due to English not being their native language, the translations of the game and the word "crate" being unfamiliar to them. Also, Box is technically referred to a space/square on the map of a Board Game scheme match.
Adaptation Scheme, Media, Portability, Transformation Something created within the Worms community (usually a scheme) that is inspired by something from other media (film, book, series, game, etc.), usually trying to adapt it or port it to Worms community. Some adaptations are very loyal to the original and others not so much.
Beam Girder Girder is how the game technically refers to the weapon used to build bridges, and block or protect worms. Some players call it "Beam", probably due to translations and different regions.
Scheme Game mode, Game style, Modality A Scheme is a game mode or game style. If Worms is a game, a scheme is a modality, an aggregate of map design, settings and rules of a particular gameplay.
Molotov Molotov cocktail, Petrol Bomb The official English term of the game for the weapon that is thrown and explodes releasing flamelets that endure for several turns is Petrol Bomb. Some players call it "Molotov" due to translations and the aspect of the weapon, that mimics a Molotov cocktail.
Map Image file, Gameplay image The Map is the official term for the image file that can be used to play the game, where the worms will stand on. In the past and in the game folders it is often referred as "Level". Some people sometimes use the word "Terrain" referring to a map, but nowadays the Worms community consider a Terrain a different thing, but it has to do with a map.
Terrain Texture, Soil type, Background, Scenario, Theme A Terrain in the Worms community nowadays means the "texture", "soil type", "background style" of a map, and not the map itself, not the image file. Examples of terrains intrinsic to the game: Farm, Sports, Manhattan, Fruits, Desert, Beach, etc.. There are also Custom terrains.
Level Map, Water, Flood The word Level in the past and in folders of the game was used to refer to what is called now a Map, an image file where the worms will stand on during a game. However, nowadays the word "Level" is often seen associated with the water or the flood: Water Level/Flood Level (the amount of pixels that the water is raised).
Water drop Border, Ground, Plop, Water, Level, Sink, Drawn The water level is set in a way that allows weapons to sink through the bottom indestructible border but worms remain standing on it, a setting known as Water drops. This makes it difficult to quickly use a mine or grenade on a worm standing on the bottom of the map, but bazookas still explode on impact.
Shore Coast, Beach, Landing zone An area designed on Surf Shopper maps in which the worms land on it after skimming on the water.
Wall Surface, Area, Zone, Touching place A surface designed on the map of some schemes, most remarkably WxW, intended to players touch it or interact with it according to the rules of the scheme. Usually they are vertical, but some are horizontal, inclined or even with irregular shapes.
Darksiding Hiding, Digging, Defensiveness, Shield, Protecting Adopt what is called an 'underhand style of play' and their games revolve around digging through the landscape to safety, hiding, planting girders and generally being very sneaky. Hiding a worm - usually by digging - in a position where it's impossible for enemy worms to hit this worm with a grenade and at the same time impossible for your worm to hit enemy worms with a grenade. The God of the Darksiders is the Buffalo of Lies (see it on Wormopedia).
Lightsiding Bravery, Courage, Attacking, Impetus, Offensiveness, Exposed, Fearlessly The practice of not hiding worms, exposing them, usually attacking. Facing the enemy fearlessly. Courageous and true, the Lightsiders, who never cower in fear of incoming missiles and always fight bravely unto the end! The lightders can count with their entity: the Concrete Donkey, a weapon that can easily catch the Darksiders.
Notching Aiming, Calculation, Angle, Trick, Tactic, Cheat A very controversial practice, whether it is cheating or not, which consists of knowing angles, positions and fuses by heart (and testings), which with full power, usually the grenade, the bazooka (or other weapon), will presumably hit the enemy with a certain guarantee of success.
Sitter Grenade, Sit, Seat, Stop, Stay, Waiting, Fuse, Time, Timer, Rest A grenade that rests or "sits" on the terrain. Usually if it stops for more than 0.25 second it can be considered a Sitter. On some artillery schemes like BnG, these grenades are forbidden by the rules. Usually the sitter falls into a pit next to the target, being considered a cheap shot.
Block Imprison, Stuck, Jail, Impede, Delay, Tactic A tactic that impede the opponent to pass through an area, or make the enemy worm stuck, forcing this worm to loose one turn to pass through the zone and get free from it. The Girder is remarkably good and useful for this tactic.
Body block Worm, Hitbox, Collision mask, Stuck, Impede, Delay, Tactic Blocking a worm with the "body"/hitbox/collision mask of other worm.
Ghost Shot Shotgun, Trick, Through, Worm, Collision mask, Hitbox, Tactic A trick done with the Shotgun that the shot passes throught a worm exactly infront of the worm shooting.
Reaim Aim, Angle, Change, Diversity, Calculation Changing the angle before aiming again. Some artillery schemes like BnG demand this.

Evil map Demanding, Severe, Strict, Difficult, Extreme, Hard, Cruel A very demanding map, severe and strict, very difficult to players perform on it successfully.
HP Hit Points, Health, Points, Hit, Damage, Numbers, Life, Death Short for Hit Points, although some people call them "Health Points".
Direct shot Straight, Cheap, Easy, Safe, Guaranteed An easy to hit shot, usually close to the enemy target aiming straight with full power. It is a safe shot, a common tactic in strategical schemes, but denied in artillery schemes like BnG.
Telecow/Jetcow Tactic, Worm rotation, Worm order, Rule, Exploitation, Abuse, Manipulation, Exploring, Teleport, Jet Pack, Transport Using Jet Pack, Teleport, or any other transport tool to move a worm next to an opponent's worm knowing that their worm will get another turn before their opponent's worm does (see Worm order manipulation on Hysteria).
Mine hat Mine, Worm, Head, Hat, Blast, Explosion, Direction, Precise, Positioning A Mine that is placed at the head of a worm (like a hat) to make the worm be launched to a precise direction.
Sheepnado Sheep, Tornado, Circles, Super Sheep, Aqua Sheep A tactic mainly used at a specific mission, performed by the speedrunning community. The sheep flies in circles in order to perform a precise movement for a shot.
Cluster trick Cluster Bomb, Trick, Underneath, Bomblets, Clusters, Fragments, Powerful A trick that consists on placing a Cluster Bomb underneath a worm at an inclined spot of the terrain to concentrade and explode all bomblets at once, causing massive damage.
