Orcs and Humans is a Fort variant scheme inspired by Warcraft: Orcs & Humans. The difference from regular fort is that the team of worms defined as "Orcs" has exclusive especific weapons and team defined as "Humans" has their own especific weapons as well. Also, at the end of the round time, when Sudden Death starts, players must build bridges and fight with melee (Dragon Ball or Battle Axe) or ranged weapons (Shotgun or Longbow).
Rules
- Players decide in advance who will be "Orcs" and who will be "Humans". Orcs use Bazooka, Longbow and Cluster Bomb. Humans use Mortar, Shotgun and Grenade. Other weapons (Girder, Freeze, Select Worm, Parachute and Ninja Rope) can be used by both teams.
- It is forbidden to use someone else's weapon (for example, Humans cannot use Bazooka).
- It is forbidden to enter someone else's fort until the end of the round time (Sudden Death).
- After the round time is over (Sudden Death), the worms must build a bridge of girders and be able to enter the enemy's fort.
Criticisms, problems and weaknesses
- This scheme is a bit asymmetric, so it may be hard to balance it perfectly. One of the teams might be overpowered.
- The rules say that players must build bridges with girders when Sudden Death starts. However, it's pretty vague. How many turns are necessary for this bridge? How many girders? The bridge must connect both forts perfectly (without gaps)? Girders can be placed vertically? Why the scheme has infinite Ninja Rope if players need to build a bridge? Why the maps doesn't have a bridge from the beginning? Ninja Rope cannot be used to cross from one fort to the other even after Sudden Death?
History
The scheme was submitted to WoRmS.oRg.Ua by Wormoman on 4th April 2009. On 20th Apr 2009, the scheme was posted by Mr.X, an admin, below the Fort scheme rules, on Fort's topic of the website.
Similar ideas
Besides being a fort variant, this scheme has elements of the schemes of the group called "specialists", like Alt-F4, for example.
