(Up to Game logic)
This is a list of known in-game tricks and glitches in the first generation of 2D Worms games.
Amiga versions
Tricks and Glitches
Note: Glitches marked with a * have been unofficially fixed in Worms (but not WormsDC) via WormShell.

- Bazooka through wall
- Collecting a Crate causes all Worm names to disappear
- Concrete Donkey can be deployed in Cavern levels
- Crate/Ninja Rope interaction
- Dynamite retreat can be altered during Replay
- Dynamite will not explode while retreating worm is jumping
- Indian rope trick
- Kamikaze-ing into a landmine stops the worm from dying
- Quick teleport
- Using the Nuclear Bomb twice pushes the team health bars off the screen
- Uzi/Minigun sound glitch
- Worms that hurt themselves with or before their first Shotgun round still get a second shot
Fatal / Crashes
- Crashes during start-up on Amiga CD32
- Crashes during start-up on machines with 2MB of RAM
- Crashes if OS libraries missing*
- Crashes on systems using MultiUserFileSystem*
- Crashes on systems with 68010 CPU*
- Game locks up if active worm dies while executing a Fire Punch
- Having more than 20 mines on screen at once crashes the game
- "Insert Disk" message on HD installed game*
- Loading maps saved with DeluxePaint or Personal Paint "Stencil" feature active crashes the game
- Loading option sets whilst using BETONG ASNA or BOING cheat crashes the game
- Software Failure 8000 0020*
Other
- Action Replays display different outcome
- Sprite animations continue while game is paused
- Control defaults to CD32 controller if cd.device is installed*
- CPU shot misprediction
- Damage counter disappears too quickly on Amigas with expanded memory
- DIY terrains with gaps in "ground" texture generate glitch maps
- First vertical row of pixels on the far left of the map visible on the far right
- MUSIC cheat glitch
- Screen cut-off on NTSC Amigas*
- Scrolling to bottom of the map during a Weapon Crate alters vertical crate spawn point
- Worms named "Jesus" can walk on water
Emulation-specific
These glitches are caused by imperfections in the Amiga emulation process and are not necessarily the result of abnormal behaviour on the part of the game.
WinUAE
- "Nowhere to worm!" error on maps with plenty of play space
- Game will not load if sound emulation is disabled
- Damage dealt disappears too quickly when an RTG board is emulated
- Sound corruption
FS-UAE
Fixed glitches
These WormsDC-specific glitches have been fixed in the v1.05 update.
Exploitable
Neutral
Harmful
Emulation-specific
These emulation-specific glitches have either been fixed in recent builds of WinUAE/FS-UAE, or can be fixed with settings adjustments.
WinUAE
- Active sprites rendered one pixel to the right of actual location
- Ninja Rope trail persists after rope has disconnected
- Sprites extend by one pixel width vertically
- Video corruption
- Worm position marker arrow uses wrong palette colours
MS-DOS versions
Tricks and Glitches
- Bazooka-Uzi trick
- Launch point of Grenades not aligned with throwing animation
- Worm on Ninja Rope can force itself through a girder if release is timed correctly
- Infinite Turns
- Fall from any distance after firing first shot with shotgun
Fixed glitches
Neutral
Console Versions
PlayStation, Sega Saturn and Atari Jaguar
Tricks and Glitches
- CPU teams using keyboard weapon hotkeys to select weapons
- Launch point of Grenades not aligned with throwing animation
