- This page is about the weapon-specific, racing-like scheme. For the Plop War origins battle scheme, see Worm Golf.
Golf is a racing-style scheme that requires players to complete a series of challenges on a specially-designed map, and win by completing the final challenge. Each challenge involves throwing a Grenade from a designated launching platform into a particular hole, akin to the real-life club-and-ball sport of the same name: golf.

Worms |
One worm per player |
Players begin by each placing their single worm on the designated starting location, which is usually the launching platform for the first challenge, or hole. They then take it in turns to throw a grenade from that position into a clearly-marked hole. If a player succeeds in getting the grenade into the hole before the fuse runs out, they can then move (using either the provided Ninja Rope or Teleport) to the launching platform for the second hole. Each hole is numbered throughout the map, and typically get more and more challenging towards the end.
Worms are given infinite health so that they cannot die to the blasts from the grenades.
The first player to reach and complete the last hole wins the round.
The scheme is supported by HostingBuddy.
Rules
- Complete the holes in order - Players must start with the first challenge and complete each challenge before moving to the next.
- Fire grenades only from the marked launch platform - Players must stay on or move to the launch platform before firing a grenade.
- Reaim before every shot - Players must not repeat the previous shot without re-aiming first.
Variations
Modifications with relatively small detail changes to the scheme.
Holy Golf
It is exactly the golf scheme, but with a Holy Hand Grenade instead of a normal grenade.
Variants
Creative modifications of the scheme.
Baseball Race
Not to be confused with the very old Crate Race-like scheme known as Baseball Bat RR.
Main Article: Baseball Race
It is golf, but with two worms and Baseball Bat instead of grenades. The scheme was designed thinking on the use of Angle cheat glitch.
Peti's Mineball
Not to be confused with the old Mineball scheme which its origins are uncertain, but might be from WWP.
Main Article: Peti's Mineball
Essencially a Golf gameplay, using mines placed by the players instead of grenades. These mines are hit by Baseball Bat and must get inside the holes. The scheme has 25 seconds of turn time and the following RubberWorm features: /sdet, /ldet, /antisink and /fdpt. So, multiple tries in a turn are available.

Specially-designed map (example) |
This variant is a mixture of Boom Race with Golf. It is played like Golf, but the worm is the ball (not the grenade). It uses a boom race scheme, but with infinite teleport and it cannot have mines.
It was created by STRGRN and DassFass, being released on 12th June 2017 on WMDB.
Black Hole Golf
Main Article: Black Hole Golf
This variant is played on a black hole gravity, feature of RubberWorm.
Zero-G Minigolf
Main Article: Zero-G Minigolf
A wormy adaptation of the real-life Minigolf sport, played with the zero gravity feature of RubberWorm.
History
The origin of the scheme is unknown but it has existed since 2004 at the latest, when the first known map for the scheme, authored by GARG0YLE, was uploaded to the Worms Map Database in September of that year. There is an archive snapshot from The Allotment dating 3rd March 2000 with a link to a scheme called "Grenade Golf". The archive page of this scheme doesn't display well, so it's unclear if "Grenade Golf" from that website and "Golf" are the same scheme, but it is possible.
Competitive events
The scheme has featured consistently in competitions, featuring:
Tournaments
In most years of the Worm Olympics from when it started in 2006 to when it ended in 2016, and in a tournament hosted on The Ultimate Site in 2011.
Cups
In cups hosted on The Ultimate Site between 2011 and 2016.
