'''Worms Basketball''' is a scheme with basically infinite [[Ninja Rope]] and Invincibility ON/Fall Damage OFF. It requires a map with at least one basket, and numbered areas where the rope must be attached. To do points, the players must throw their worms from those areas to the basket and hit it. The points can be related to the map rules or related to the number of the area where the rope is attached, so if you launched from the area 3 and hit the basket, you will receive three points. Each player can only make one launch per turn, so if someone miss the basket and the fall didn't cause loss of turn, this player will need to skip the turn. The winner will be the first one who reaches a determined score (excluding the benefit of those who start the game) or who gets the most points during a determined time. It is possible to apply both objectives at the same time: if the score given was not reached and the time given was reached, who did the most points wins. Usually the determined score is 21 points and the determined time is 15 minutes.

Worms Basketball is a point-scoring scheme played on a specially-designed map, inspired by the real-life sport Basketball (a wormy adaptation). Players have to fling their worms into a 'basket' using the Ninja Rope, scoring points as they do so. The number of points scored depends on where the rope is attached. The player with the most points after a certain number of turns wins the game.

Worm Ball

The older Worm Ball maps intended double points to be awarded if the worm flies completely over the basketball post and down behind it.

You have unlimited rope to swing your worm into the basket. Using the two dots hovering on the terrain, you need to attach your rope to either of those, and from there throw your worm into the air in the direction of the basket. 2 points are scored for using the lower (and closer) piff-point, 3 points for the higher (and further away) piff-point.

Worm Ball

Not to confuse with Worm Ball Race, a 2004 scheme similar to Driver scheme.

Worms 2

The scheme has existed since at least 1999 (see an archive snapshot from The Allotment dating 18th January 2000), when it was created in Worms 2 and known as Worm Ball by an unknown author. Gizmo made his own version of the scheme, available (by the time) for download on The Allotment.

Worms Armageddon

Bloopy's Worms Armageddon map from 2001 (later updated in 2003) was based on a similar map drawn in the in-game editor by an unknown creator.

Worms Basketball

The scheme was revived under the name "Worms Basketball" in 2006, with a map authored by BigBilly and uploaded to the Worms Map Database in March of that year. His map is a remix, also based on Bloopy's and/or other similar maps. Bloopy's map was used in the Worm Olympics later in 2006, and the scheme appeared again in the 2015 Worm Olympics.
