IIRC RR was invented by JohnMac. The maps were quite simple and you had weapons as well so it played more like an RR/Battle Race hybrid. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CheechLizard (talkcontribs)

Or if you believe Kami/Yello's Map Hut, "it was invented a shit of a long ass time ago by archmage". --Bloopy 18:40, 23 April 2008 (MST)

W2 isn't the grand idea machine that they would have you believe —Preceding unsigned comment added by CheechLizard (talkcontribs) 12:10, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

About variations

FoxHound, are you sure that the variations you added are really played in WormNET? Also, would you please include a map example for each variation you added? (Template:Map example) --Explorer09 12:02, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Well, Trick Race is a little famous already, Tower Rope Race is the pseudo Tower Race that usually people play in wormnet (i just copied from the Tower Race page) and the Checkpoint race i played it yesterday for the first time and there's not a map in wmdb yet. If you think that this last one is not famous enough to appear here, remove it. I have a replay file of the match i played and i extracted the map and uploaded to ImageShack: [1]. The replay is not the best one to be put in the wiki, because the game ended before someone reach the finish. Here is the link for the replay: http://www.4shared.com/file/k1vL4fpz/2010-07-22_203931_Online_Hosti.html
About the map exemple, the checkpoint race is not in wmdb, so i will not use the template correctly. The tower rope race is on Tower Race page and there is no map exemple there. WxW has a main article and does not have a map exemple on Shopper page, that's why i didn't put a Trick Race map exemple. FoxHound 16:27, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Checkpoint Race is an existing and played scheme.
If you are unsure about the popularity of a certain scheme, you can always check the previous years' WormOlympics sites. Balee 21:42, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
