Help The Sheep or HTS, is a (rope) racing scheme based on Beat The Sheep and Check Point Rope Race. The idea consists on helping the sheep pass through holes, gaps and paths using the worm body and the Ninja Rope to push the sheep, change its direction, change its behaviour or create a bridge to make it access a spot to be able to touch the next checkpoint. Each checkpoint is a place where the sheep can be dropped (to progress the race), but only if the sheep touched it before, walking or jumping from the previous checkpoint. The first checkpoint is the only exception due to obvious reasons.

Objective

The first player to complete all tasks to help the sheep find its cape, or freedom, or whatever it is needing, wins.

Rules

  • Since this scheme is a race: Start to Finish.
  • Drop the sheep at the indicated zones near the numbers. Each numbered zone is a checkpoint.
  • You cannot activate the sheep to fly, unless it touches its cape on the map.
  • You need to help the sheep reach the next checkpoint. If you fail, teleport back to the checkpoint you are.
  • Use the body of the worm with the rope to help the sheep.

History

The author of this scheme is FoxHound. The scheme is not realeased yet (TBA - To Be Announced), but it will probably in the end of 2023.

FoxHound had the idea due to a project by BigBilly consisting on creating a very big map of Big Rope Race scheme, made by 9 different authors, each responsible for a section of the map, as cooperative work. Initially, FoxHound refused to be part of the project, due to its lack of graphical abilities and because he usually prefers to create maps for different schemes. However, there was a player who gave up the project, and sbs convinced FoxHound to create something for the project, encouraging him to create something different. So, since the map was meant for Big RR, FoxHound thought to create a variant as a minigame or side quest of the map, like the Super Sheep Race bonus part that SiD made. Initially, FoxHound was considering to make a Surf Race part, but his section of the map was on top. During a conversation, sbs suggested to create a Beat The Sheep part, since the scheme would already have a sheep due to the SSR area, so the idea of Help The Sheep came in FoxHound's mind, and not long after, he thought about a little story for the sheep, because if the sheep would be helped, it should have a cause to be helped. And suddenly the idea of the sheep searching for a cape came, to use the roof of FoxHound's section to connect with SSR of SiD's section. Help The Sheep was also inspired by the PlayStation One game called Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf, and the following WA community contributions: Check Point Rope Race scheme, Drive for Weapons scheme, Worm Race scheme, some Board Game maps, and a scheme concept by czlowiek-kredens that until this day was not materialized. After several tests and edits, FoxHound finally finished his part of the map containing Help The Sheep, on 21st October 2023. The full map (with all parts) and the scheme are yet to be published.
