‘’’Sinkless Homing Worm WxW’’’ is a RubberWorm WxW scheme (so it uses the same rules) that explores the Anti Sink mechanic. The only place available for the worms to land is the base or the “home”, where all the crates will spawn as well. So, Anti Sink is used as a Teleport to get back to the base, or home (like what a real life pigeon usually does), after touching the single and very far away wall that is available after a long path filled with water under the roping ceiling (players need to plop to attack the leader). The rope physics is different, the acceleration is higher and the speed limit is higher, allowing the worm to rope roll spinning like a frenetic shuriken, really, really fast. The original version of the scheme had no Rubber Bounciness. It was later implemented to the scheme because beginners had a lot of difficulty to reach the wall, due to the different physics and the relatively short time to reach the wall. The original map has only a single wall on an horizontal path, but more walls are possible and vertical paths with walls are possible too.

The scheme uses the following settings: max Speed, Multishot, AntiSink, Rubber, 3 crates per turn, ldet and fdpt.

History

The scheme was created by FoxHound, and released on WMDB along with the original map on 27th September 2009.

The name

The scheme was originally named Anti Sink WxW (the first map with one wall, so Anti Sink w1w), then it was probably renamed to w1w Anti Sink on WMDB later.

To avoid confusion with ploppy WxW maps that are played using Anti Sink feature (a simple WxW scheme variation), the author of the scheme decided that “Sinkless Homing Worm WxW” was a better name for it on 2nd July 2024, since this scheme requires specially designed maps with this “Homing Worm” concept.
