Mortal is a distinctive, fast paced RubberWorm scheme which utilizes weapons that are not used frequently on most other schemes: Mortar, Mine Strike, and Mike's Carpet Bomb. Despite having mass number of worms in this game, the game ends fairly quickly purely due to the shooting spam using the available weapons (especially the mortar) by the players. This scheme isn't meant to be played competitively but instead, to have casual yet exciting fun. Turn time is very short (10 seconds), but there are five seconds of hotseat time to allow players to properly select a worm and/or plan an effective move. TestStuff 8 RubberWorm function does not cancel hotseat time while selecting worms. Many health crates spawn each turn to increase intensity and unpredictability in this game. Sudden Death time is 60 minutes and stockpiling is the same every round. The scheme includes the following RubberWorm Features: sdet, ldet, fdpt, swat, ts8, craterate(7), cratelimit(200), and flames(1500)

History

The scheme was created by oinky, being released on TUS on 8th August 2011 and received the following updates:

October 19, 2011 (including all other previous updates at Tus website)

  • Speed(5) RubberWorm function is removed.
  • Napalm Strike is removed, Prod and Mine Strike are added.
  • TestStuff 8 RubberWorm function added for more powerful Jet Pack and removing Hotseat Time cancel from Selecting Worms.
  • Max flame is raised from 500 to 1500

February 28, 2012

  • Swat (select worm anytime during the turn) RubberWorm function added.

Funny name suggestion

Desetroyah suggested here (TUS WoSC board) that this scheme could be called "Mortar Combat", referencing Mortal Kombat.
