I tried to register on Team17 forum and report bug there, but I didn't recieve registration e-mail. I tried to register two times - first with unstable e-mail adress, which doesn't work sometimes, and second time with my Gmail. It was about two hours ago, and I still didn't recieve mail in both adresses. I didn't find "resend activation email" button.

So, that bug - I played Bow and Arrow online today. My team have custom grave set with TeamED. It looks like oil drum. When one of my worms died, someone thought that it is real oil drum and shoot at it with bow. Then, it fell through terrain and into water. I uploaded that replay here, sorry that I didn't asked for that, but its only for this use (to show you that bug). Replay here --—Preceding unsigned comment added by Drury (talk • contribs)

:It's not a bug, it's a design choice. If the grave intersects with land, it will fall through. Arrows create land pixels when they impact land. The alternative would be to have the arrow magically vanish. It's pretty cool, though, that an animated "oil drum" grave turns into the correct "sinking oil drum" sprite when it hits the water. --Vladimir 21:52, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

RE: Weapon Cquotes
I can see your point. But on the other hand we need to really improve the weapon articles, especially usage and tactics. Some now tell only how the weapon works. Could there be a nav template in the end of each weapon article (like weapons in second generation or something) so it could be easy to switch between weapons? --Tiku-Orava 13:03, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

::I don't see how adding quotes would improve weapon articles. Also, where do you get these "quotes" from? I see some of them are from their Wormopedia entries, but not all. That doesn't make sense. While translating the W:A ReadMe, I've stumbled upon a few things that were not entirely understandable (to me, at any rate). I suppose it would not be good to have any haphazard things in the ReadMe, so would you mind answering some questions? Cb14 16:40, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
+
:I should have probably brought this to light earlier, however there have been at least two Russian ReadMe translation efforts so far. I believe one of them was done independently on the worms.org.ua forums for the exclusive means to be included with a pirate compilation of W:A. The other was done by Mr.X and myself and hasn't actually been completed (IIRC we got stuck on the proofreading/corrections stage), however for the love of everything I can't find it. All I can find is the translated 3.6.28.0 section, here. Should we create an article about the poison game effect explaining what it does etc, including weapons which create this effect and other situations with poison like sudden death? --Tiku-Orava 18:09, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

I think as an admin and one of the people who do updates in the versions of WA, you shouldn't treat people as you are doing. I think nobody likes to receive a correction summary like this: "WTF FoxHound?!". It is not the first time that you do this. I did not invent that edition in Team17 (scheme) page, i played with players that use this rule to the game, and even kicked me when i used rope knocking during the game. Maybe in the past when you played nobody used to use this rule, but things change. If you want to discuss my edit please, use the talk page. Do not put those summary corrections as you are doing, use the summary part to describe your edit. I know that my english sucks and that i'm always forgetting things in my edits. Maybe you hate me, maybe not, maybe you hate brazilians like many people in WormNET. I think the editors should respect each other, or if you don't agree with me, as an admin you can ban me. But put in mind that i'm giving my best and even with my problems i'm editting often in this wiki. Particularly i think that my edits are not useless and few players spent their time to edit pages here. Sorry if I'm being too bold, but could not keep quiet. FoxHound 02:21, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
+
:Foxhound, please don't mention about your nationality here. I, and maybe everybody in the community, won't think it is a fault that you're a Brazilian, although the not-so-proper English sometimes does annoy us. --Explorer09 05:36, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
+
:Dear FoxHound, despite that you may have been correct regarding the Team17 "no rope knocking rule" (which was probably added a long time ago by someone who had no idea what he was doing and further dragged along by "tradition"), I am honestly sick and tired with dealing people like you on this wiki, who instead of (almost) unilaterally improving the content add wrong/unsourced/unargumented statements and text ridden with spelling/grammatical errors - changes which do not improve the overall quality. You probably don't realize (or care) that inaccuracies on this wiki may be held against me should I post links to it in an official or sensitive context. Also, please, please don't tell me how I should behave - being in my position where you have to deal with a job, maintaining W:A, maintaining the WormNET bots, maintaining the wormy websites I host and the server which hosts it all, answering W:A support forum threads, taking the time to talk to everyone who writes me e-mails or PMs me on WormNET, and convincing Team17 to keep W:A alive, makes my life stressful enough and I think I would rather just politely ask you to leave rather than having to deal with this crap. --Vladimir 11:08, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

I see. So all of my edits here were not recognized. That's why there is few people editting here in this wiki. If you edit something, you'll not helping the wiki, you will be giving work to the editors, because even if you speak english, they need to review all of your edits, and that's "bad". You have a lot of work, but the other editors work too, they study too, so you are not the only person with lots of things to do. Maybe you wrote me to leave just because if you ban me, all of my time wasted and your time correcting me here, will disappear and if i just leave, my edits will stay. I'll stop editting here, because i'll not edit to people say that my edits are a crap. Maybe you are just nervous, because you are working too much. Sorry, if i said to you how you should act, that was just my opinion. I recognize all of your importance in the Worms, i like your work, maybe if weren't you, W:A wouldn't exist anymore. But i'm disapointed with your decision. Maybe i'll stop playing Worms too, knowing that the one who are updating W:A think I'm spoiling. FoxHound 14:33, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

I like FoxHound's work here. He actively adds new content. If that content sometimes happens to get classified as "crap", then it gets deleted, or if it's inaccurate or misspelled, it gets corrected. Sounds like how a wiki works, you know? I wish we had more bold people, so us not-so-bold watchers of recent changes would have more stuff to do. --Maska 19:48, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Some clarifications:
+
* "this crap" - I meant people telling me what to do and how to behave. I'm getting enough of it from Team17 and my job. It did not describe my opinion about FoxHound's edits.
+
* See FoxHound's talk page for the source of most of my frustration.
+
* I did not intend to say that all of FoxHound's edits were bad, though what I wrote is likely to be interpreted that way. I erred.
+
* Let's not exaggerate this out of proportions. You would be the first editor driven away by an emotional outburst from me. That is not the reason this wiki has so few editors.
+
That is all. --Vladimir 22:07, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
+

+
:Please ignore my comment and don't reply anything if you (CyberShadow) knew this already.
+
:Do you know that you have scared him away because of the way you said? From his first post, I clearly recognised that he wants your apology because he was offended by saying that his edit was "WTF?", although you didn't mean that way. His post was mixed with his own complaints, I know. Then, you replied him of your situation, and unfortunately (and accidentally) you offended him again by the term "crap". He did not get your apology and was too upset that he left here.
+
:Now I personally don't think that your 'clarifications' will help him anymore. Saying him "sorry" can, however, bring him back to the community. I don't want to argue about why things go like this, and that's it.

::You're right. I apologise for over-reacting regarding his edit on the Team17 (scheme) article. At that time, it looked as if FoxHound got a false impression by playing with one host who mixed up shopper and Team17 rules (which is likely what happened a long time ago, see above). What I said above still stands, though... --Vladimir 13:21, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

It was not one host, it was two. It is not a good number, but i'm sure that many people use this rule, that's the reason to people use the PartyTime channel (that doesn't allow rope knocking) in the the T17 tournaments. Just look: 2010-WO-T17-#1 & 2010-WO-T17-#2. I just want respect, i'm trying to stop with my mistakes, but you prefer to kick me out of here, so you won't need to correct me and review my posts every time. I put the same rule to Elite article, feel free to delete this rule there too. FoxHound 14:17, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
+
:You misunderstood my last comment. You don't need to explain yourself. I knew RK was a common Team17 rule, but not when I reverted your edit. --Vladimir 14:19, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Forgive me. I stopped updating myself and play about everything related to WA in these months that passed since our discussion above, i was very disappointed, worms is not the same thing knowing that CyberShadow doesn't want my edits here. The few times i played, i was always thinking in this discussion: is like reading a book that the author does not want you read (I know that you are not the autor of worms and that the game is one thing and the wiki is another). I don't want that. I downloaded the .31 version today and it is great, my windows 7 is not a problem anymore! You are excellent in your work. I beg you, please give me your forgiveness, can not stand this situation. I'm not asking to return to the wiki, i just want your forgiveness. Please, accept my apologies, because the guilt sensation is awful. I promise never to bother you, my sincere apologies. FoxHound 23:39, 27 December 2010 (CET)

:If anyone here should apologize, it should be me. I have thought about this incident many times as well... I certainly did not intend to make you feel unwelcome around the Worms community. Hello there. I'm a new user here, but an old fan of the Worms series. I'm from the Worms Wiki.
+

+
May I have your permission to create an article about the character Boggy B? I have no idea why no article about him was ever created in the first place, he's technically the primary protagonist of the series, he at least deserves a mention.
+

+
Also, might I ask why the "Present in:" segment of the "Scales of Justice" article includes the original Worms and Worms: The Director's Cut (with question marks)? I'm 100% certain the Scales of Justice has made its debut appearance in Worms Armageddon.

:Sure, you don't need my permission to create new pages. This wiki is mostly oriented towards factual and technical content, rather than the (so-to-speak) lore of the series.

:As for the "Present in" thing, it was probably left over from the weapon article template. I've fixed it, but since this is a wiki, feel free to go ahead and fix things too.

Wormnet Server List

On your wormnet server list, FoeXnet should link to wormnet.foex-gaming.com , not wormsnet.foex-gaming.com (This is why it appears to be down).

And where did you get that information? http://wormnet.foex-gaming.com/ gives the same page as if you enter any invalid 3rd-level subdomain, like http://nonexistant-abcdef.foex-gaming.com/ - and besides, they don't have an IRC server running on either of the two hosts. So please check your facts before complaining, and PLEASE sign your comments when posting on talk pages!!!!! --Vladimir 05:24, 30 June 2007 (MST)

protecting pages

I've decided to protect the "installing on linux" pages so no one can tamper with them maliciously. The same ought to be done with other installation pages, really; anyone could change the link to the beta .exe with a link to a virus. I don't think there is actually any threat of this happening, but having the "locked article" message at the top of the page will at least let users know that the instructions and links are safe to use.

tl;dr version: MadEwokHerd needs sysop priveliges so he can edit the linux pages as he sees fit :)

Run! 09:06, 18 February 2008 (MST)

I monitor the wiki's recent changes, so any vandalism wouldn't live more than a day. I guess it's a good point about the banner. Also MEH is now a SysOp. --Vladimir 09:33, 18 February 2008 (MST)

Bug Report (problems with registration on Team17 forum)

Replay here --—Preceding unsigned comment added by Drury (talkcontribs)

It's not a bug, it's a design choice. If the grave intersects with land, it will fall through. Arrows create land pixels when they impact land. RE: Weapon Cquotes

I can see your point. But on the other hand we need to really improve the weapon articles, especially usage and tactics. Some now tell only how the weapon works. I don't see how adding quotes would improve weapon articles. Also, where do you get these "quotes" from? I see some of them are from their Wormopedia entries, but not all. That doesn't make sense. Adding extra info as long as they are true, make sense and have value is okay, but people are not coming here to see quotes they could (mostly) read in their original... habitat. Nope, none of those work. And I tried all of them. Are there any more solutions? --Tiku-Orava 10:27, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

I find that hard to believe. You don't have any terminatable processes in your palette.log and killing Explorer.exe doesn't help? Also, this is not a support forum --Vladimir 10:29, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Russian ReadMe

While translating the W:A ReadMe, I've stumbled upon a few things that were not entirely understandable (to me, at any rate). I suppose it would not be good to have any haphazard things in the ReadMe, so would you mind answering some questions? Cb14 16:40, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

I should have probably brought this to light earlier, however there have been at least two Russian ReadMe translation efforts so far. Perhaps Mr.X still has a copy? --Vladimir 12:04, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
Now, I sent him a PM on worms.org.ua forum. Awaiting response. Cb14 17:54, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
We've discussed this issue with Mr.X, and it turns out that no "Fixes" sections were translated until v3.6.28.0. Looks like I'm going to need your help, after all. Cb14 14:25, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
Yes, but I can't even find the document with the translated features before 3.6.28.0. Anyway, feel free to ask questions regarding the translation on some talk page on this website, or you can find me on IRC. --Vladimir 15:58, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Template:Rename media

I hope this template could help people like FoxHound who want to rename files but couldn't do themselves. (Files can only be renamed by admins)

CyberShadow (and other administrators): You can watch this category for any file which needs renaming/moving. --Explorer09 14:01, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Article about poison

Should we create an article about the poison game effect explaining what it does etc, including weapons which create this effect and other situations with poison like sudden death? --Tiku-Orava 18:09, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

I don't see why you felt the need to ask me about this. If you think you can put together some useful information and add it to this wiki, go ahead. There isn't really much to say about poison that isn't obvious by playing the game for a bit, though. --Vladimir 18:11, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Criticism

Foxhound, please don't mention about your nationality here. I, and maybe everybody in the community, won't think it is a fault that you're a Brazilian, although the not-so-proper English sometimes does annoy us. --Explorer09 05:36, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Dear FoxHound, despite that you may have been correct regarding the Team17 "no rope knocking rule" (which was probably added a long time ago by someone who had no idea what he was doing and further dragged along by "tradition"), I am honestly sick and tired with dealing people like you on this wiki, who instead of (almost) unilaterally improving the content add wrong/unsourced/unargumented statements and text ridden with spelling/grammatical errors - changes which do not improve the overall quality.

 • "this crap" - I meant people telling me what to do and how to behave. I'm getting enough of it from Team17 and my job. It did not describe my opinion about FoxHound's edits.
 • See FoxHound's talk page for the source of most of my frustration.
 • I did not intend to say that all of FoxHound's edits were bad, though what I wrote is likely to be interpreted that way. I erred.
 • Let's not exaggerate this out of proportions. You would be the first editor driven away by an emotional outburst from me. That is not the reason this wiki has so few editors.

That is all. --Vladimir 22:07, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Please ignore my comment and don't reply anything if you (CyberShadow) knew this already.
Do you know that you have scared him away because of the way you said? From his first post, I clearly recognised that he wants your apology because he was offended by saying that his edit was "WTF?", although you didn't mean that way. His post was mixed with his own complaints, I know. Then, you replied him of your situation, and unfortunately (and accidentally) you offended him again by the term "crap". He did not get your apology and was too upset that he left here.
Now I personally don't think that your 'clarifications' will help him anymore. Saying him "sorry" can, however, bring him back to the community. I don't want to argue about why things go like this, and that's it.
--Explorer09 06:12, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
You're right.

You misunderstood my last comment. You don't need to explain yourself. I knew RK was a common Team17 rule, but not when I reverted your edit. --Vladimir 14:19, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
"What I said above still stands, though..." Yes it is. Thank God for solving this conflict, I hope FoxHound won't take that too personally.... (start weeping) --Explorer09 14:25, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

I'm such a hypocrite :( --Vladimir 16:17, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

If anyone here should apologize, it should be me. I have thought about this incident many times as well... I certainly did not intend to make you feel unwelcome around the Worms community. Your edits have been in good faith, and my emotional outburst is clearly unsuitable for the personality I'm striving towards... Welcome back. --Vladimir 10:52, 28 December 2010 (CET)

I'm so happy to hear that! What a relief! I'll give my best to make good edits, do not flood the wiki with minor edits and preview them 500 times before saving the page. FoxHound 18:25, 28 December 2010 (CET)

http://worms2d.info/Community_software_ideas

it says: ProSnooper is WormNET's most popular snooper... which is not true anymore :) i think wheat belongs to this words now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lookias (talkcontribs)

You wish. --Vladimir 22:50, 9 January 2011 (CET)

Yes i know the statistic and i think it counts the joining which are higher for prosnooper because it crashes often. I see this since weeks now: http://img20.imageshack.us/f/wheatvsprsnp.png/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lookias (talkcontribs)

I just did a count on unique people who used either snoopers today. 198 ProSnooper users, 84 Wheat Snooper users. --Vladimir 23:09, 9 January 2011 (CET)

Ah well ok that seems to be more even when wheat users often dont have the right client string. --Lookias 23:39, 9 January 2011 (CET)

Program Files issues

Will we decide anything on the Program Files directory-related issues? --StepS 13:20, 16 November 2011 (CET)

Not to be annoying, but I, really, wait for your response. --StepS 17:11, 31 December 2011 (CET)

Permission

Hello there. I'm a new user here, but an old fan of the Worms series. I'm from the Worms Wiki.

May I have your permission to create an article about the character Boggy B? I have no idea why no article about him was ever created in the first place, he's technically the primary protagonist of the series, he at least deserves a mention.

Also, might I ask why the "Present in:" segment of the "Scales of Justice" article includes the original Worms and Worms: The Director's Cut (with question marks)? I'm 100% certain the Scales of Justice has made its debut appearance in Worms Armageddon.

Boggy B 09:56, 29 August 2014 (CEST)

Sure, you don't need my permission to create new pages. This wiki is mostly oriented towards factual and technical content, rather than the (so-to-speak) lore of the series.
As for the "Present in" thing, it was probably left over from the weapon article template. I've fixed it, but since this is a wiki, feel free to go ahead and fix things too.
--Vladimir 10:02, 29 August 2014 (CEST)
Alright, thank you. That was a fast reply by the way... The Worms Wiki is actually "dying" and has gotten incredibly boring. Most users on that wiki are now inactive. Hopefully this wiki has more social, or at least active, users.
