Tube Trap The AIM of the game is to knock enemy worms in to the long tubes, get the health crate (or if lucky a UTILITY or AMMO Crate) and then ATTACK any enemy worm from rope or from land. BEWARE: At Sudden Death you will all get sick and water will rise slowly, so do not leave your worms in a tube for too long!

RULES: Get Crate THEN make your attack on 'ANYONE'. This is different to shopper where you have to attack from rope. In Tube Trap you can attack from ground too.

Note that the alien glitch is usually seen in this scheme.

History

Created by RichUK Founder of 'Pn' Pronoob Clan within WormNET

The example game was in the early stages of development. A variety of maps are now available to accompany the game with easy to read information letting you know the level of map hardness.

NOTE: All maps can be used with people that use HostingBuddy and the map numbers are in order of easy to hard - 19475 19476 19477 19478.

Thanks to FoxHound for help in removing the "slow rope" bug when people hosted using Rubberworm (the crate probability of Mine Strike was "2", activating "speed" feature) - this is now fixed, so the game can be hosted by anyone even if you load Wormkit modules - all now works great - UPDATED 2012 January 9th Happy New Year

As of August 16, 2017 Tube Trap is one of the many schemes hostable by HostingBuddy.

To date there are 4 MAIN MAPS developed, tried and tested, they are as follows:

TubeTrap01 Brick Red.png TubeTrap02 Brick Blue.png TubeTrap03 RustyPipes.png TubeTrap04 TheBirds.png
Easy Medium Hard Hardest
Red Brick, with same length tubes and not easy to explode worms in to water Blue Brick, slightly more complicated layout, than the Red Brick Map Rusty Pipes, Large map with various length tubes including short one way down and long way up a nearby tube The Birds, Large map where you can send worms to a watery grave, Some tubes are very long. Birds are deadly.

Tips and Strategies

A simple strategy is to place a mine in a tube connecting to a tube where the worms are below. When they try to climb up, they will have to waste time trying to detonate it, go out of their way to avoid it, or they will explode. Be careful, a good player can completely move pass the mine if they are smart and careful enough.

Another good strategy is to use girder packs. A girder starter pack can block off enemy worms completely. If they haven't gotten any escape weapons from a crate shower, they will be trapped. Since the terrain is indestructible, they won't be able to get out of the girders. This is useful for creating deathtraps and blocking off worms. Simply trapping the last few worms is a good strategy.

An easier way of escaping the tubes is to attach a ninja rope to the tube wall, and bounce up above the rope you are on and lengthen the rope to gain height quickly. A thing people don't pay attention to is when sudden death is about to come. Sudden death will show you when it is time to scramble out of your tubes. Use sudden death against your opponent wisely.

Finally, the petrol bomb can be used to great effectiveness for blocking off paths or ruining someone in ice.

Variations

Some people prefer to play with eight worms each. This is so because it keeps worms in tubes longer and someone getting really good crate weapons have a less of a chance killing most of the enemy team in one turn.

Utility crates are sometimes disabled because of really strong power ups like damage *2 and crate shower.

The rules, ABL, or KTL can be applied to this scheme for games with more than 2 players.

You can also play without rope knocking. This prevents turns from getting boring because someone might knock a worm across the floor for the entire turn to put them in a tube.

Finally, some people like to play without super weapons. There aren't very many variations out there in the world right now, but Tube Trap is highly customizable.
