The Darkside or Darkside or {{07}} is an intrinsic scheme that, as the name suggests, was designed thinking in a darksiding gameplay style (see Terminology) and also in the god of the darksiders: the Buffalo of Lies. The most remarkable and obvious settings that reinforces this gameplay style are: infinite girder (blocking and protecting worms all the time), infinite Blow Torch and Pneumatic Drill (digging tunnels to hide in the terrain), the single Freeze, the single Girder Starter Pack, the two Scales of Justice, and the setting that follows the rotation order of the worms (impossible to switch worms during hot-seat time). Other settings are not so obvious or don't necessarily apply to darksiding gameplay style.

Weapons that are not included in the .wsc file, but they exist in the scheme when loaded by the game and played: x1 Freeze (no delay), x1 Suicide Bomber (no delay), x2 Scales of Justice (no delay), x1 (Girder Starter Pack), x3 Select Worm, x1 Mole Squadron (delay 7).

Criticisms, problems and weaknesses

  • Darksiding with infinite Girder, infinite Blow Torch and infinite Pneumatic Drill can be considered boring by some players (worms get free and blocked, get free and blocked...). It requires some patience to play.
  • 60 seconds of turn time can be quite long to wait your time to play, especially playing with 6 players.

History

The scheme has been around as long as the game itself (Worms Armageddon was released in 1999), having been provided as part of the default schemes in the base game.
