:As it is on the history of the page, Lex edited it. But I think he corrected according to the grammar and it is ok the correction. I don't understand why the correct form would be "it's". IIRC it is used to abbreviate "it is", "it has" or when a thing belongs to it. In this case none of these 3 options make sense. So I think it is "its" the correct form. Descriptions

Where are these descriptions from? I didn't see any of these text in the Soundbank editor. --Explorer09 05:52, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

They're in the names.wdb file. I'm not sure if they're actually exposed to the user interface, possibly due to a bug. --Vladimir 06:52, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Used but Unused

There's an "Unused sounds" section, and in the "Soundbank sounds and meaning" there's the four files that have been disabled since the 3.6.29.0 Beta: Excellent, Perfect, Amazing and Brilliant. Aren't these unused too? Is there a reason not to move them under "Unused sounds"? --OutofOrder 19:26, 23 September 2012 (CEST)

WWP soundbanks?

there are a couple of additional foreign language soundbanks in WWP, should they be included here too, along with the transcriptions/translation subentries? TheMadCharles (talk) 20:10, 10 February 2023 (UTC)

Yes, they should be included. Please feel free to add them. -Lex (talk) 18:45, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
To elaborate on whether WWP documentation belongs on this wiki: it does. Therefore, anything you discover that is from WWP and is not documented on the WKB, please feel free to add. Thank you for your contributions! They're greatly appreciated. -Lex (talk) 18:49, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
will do, added a section and stubs for the soundbanks in question, also tried to get started with transcribing and translating Polish-2, but so far that has proved to be far more difficult than i thought it would be. Thank you so much! 🧡 TheMadCharles (talk) 18:02, 13 February 2023 (UTC)

Misspellings in names.wdb

the line for firstblood.wav has a spelling mistake. the description is "Worm says, "First Blood" when killing it's first victim." notice the "it's" instead of "its." someone has edited this line to be correct on this article and i'm not sure if any other spelling mistake in names.wdb should also be corrected. --Gantzgraf (talk) 14:37, 15 June 2024 (UTC)

As it is on the history of the page, Lex edited it. But I think he corrected according to the grammar and it is ok the correction. I don't understand why the correct form would be "it's". IIRC it is used to abbreviate "it is", "it has" or when a thing belongs to it. In this case none of these 3 options make sense. So I think it is "its" the correct form. I'm not a native speaker, though, maybe you're right. --FoxHound (talk) 15:54, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
i phrased myself kinda badly. i meant that the names.wdb file in WA incorrectly uses "it's" but the mistake has been fixed in this article.
I got what you mean now. Well, I think we could add notes about those typos/misspellings. --FoxHound (talk) 14:48, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
I don't think it's worthwhile for our community to preserve the exact descriptions from a particular file that comes with the game. I even think we should avoid it because of the copyright implication. It's useful to have descriptions of the sounds and how they are used, but preserving the exact descriptions including spelling and grammar issues is not useful for the community, as far as I can tell. I think we should change the column header to just "Description" instead of "Description from names.wdb" and then maintain whatever description most-accurately describes the original intent of the sound as far as we can tell with neutrality preserved, with the first source being names.wdb but with any corrections allowed, and keep notes for what difference the tested behavior exhibits. What do you think? Lex (talk) 20:46, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
