This release of the game has been criticized for low in-game framerates, and for lacking many of the changes and improvements included in ''Worms Armageddon'' following beta updates. Many fans also feel that the "remastered" subtitle is ill-deserved, as the work done to improve the game from its original 2001 release is minimal. At time of writing, the game holds a "Mixed" rating on Steam, with 54 positive reviews and 73 negative.

Worms World Party Remastered is the 2015 updated re-release of Worms World Party. It was released on July 16th, 2015, a full eight days later than originally planned - Team17 opted to delay the release due to what they described as "a critical bug buried deep in the game's code."

As well as featuring "updated" frontend graphics, the game also features Steam leaderboards, controller support, and support for multiple in-game screen resolutions a la Worms Armageddon. A number of other cosmetic changes were introduced to the game, the most prominent being the addition of "remastered" sound effects, in actuality sounds pulled from later entries in the series such as Worms Reloaded and Worms Revolution.

Much of the update work appears to have been done by British developers TickTock, who also worked on the high-definition remake of another Team17 title, Superfrog.

This release of the game has been criticized for low in-game framerates, and for lacking many of the changes and improvements included in Worms Armageddon following beta updates. Many fans also feel that the "remastered" subtitle is ill-deserved, as the work done to improve the game from its original 2001 release is minimal.

An update was released on October 20th, 2015 to address some of the issues, and introduces a new high-resolution frontend system replacing the older one which was still being rendered at 640x480. Framerate issues persist, but are less severe, and the main menu breaks when using ultrawide resolutions. No further updates or support for the game has been provided since this update, and the online community has largely abandoned it in favor of Worms Armageddon.

As of July 16th 2023, the game holds a "Mixed" rating on Steam, with 751 positive reviews and 710 negative, while on GOG.com the game has a 2.8 out of 5 stars "Verified Owners Rating" and a 3.2 out of 5 stars "Overall Rating".
