Streaming a Game of Worms

Streaming Worms Armageddon is different to streamings of other games, mainly because of it's OpenGL based graphics. So the usual way of streaming games fails for Worms Armageddon. This article gives an instruction how to avoid the graphic problems, though the author limits oneself on own made experiences.

Stream Setup: Xsplit + Twitch.tv + Mumble Techs Get a powerful computer (i7 does it just fine) Wormkit module D3D9Wnd Install Worms Armageddon with the latest update Install Wormkit module D3D9Wnd (Kawoosh, StepS) (http://myfiles.my1.ru/wa/wk/wkD3D9Wnd.rar) Run W:A and set game resolution to 1280x720 Go to settings and click on “load Wormkit modules” Exit W:A Start W:A again. Now you are in a windowed mode Twitch.tv Register at www.twitch.tv XSplit Install Xsplit (www.xsplit.com) Start XSplit Add your twitch.tv channel. Go to View-Resolutions-Edit resolutions and tick 1280x720 View-Resolution – choose 1280x720 Now setup your scene. Click “Add screen region” and click on your w:a window Stretch it in xsplit window Start your broadcast Mumble If you need an easy way to comment games with your friends just use Mumble (www.mumble.com) Install client Add server: Label: Worms Address: worms2d.info Port: 64738 Username: (your nickname) Password: (no password) Turn your speakers off. Use headphones. Otherwise you will have annoying echo that might ruin the stream. Check your hardware for background nosies Make sure there will be no noise in your room (talking, tv or any other sounds except your voice) Setup Push-to-talk. Configure->Settings->Audio Input->Choose “Push-to-talk” from drop-down menu. Shortcuts->Add->Choose “push-to-talk”->Click under Shortcut tab->Push “Right Ctrl” (or any other key of your choice)
