Kaos Mole Shopper (also known as RubberWorm Mole Shopper) is a variation on the classic Mole Shopper scheme which takes advantage of some of Extended Scheme Options, such as "Weapon use doesn't end turn" (allowing worms to take unlimited shots) and "RubberWorm crate rate", allowing a continuous supply of crates to fill the map. All weapons are over-powered, leading to chaotic games of excessive destruction.

Kaos Mole Shopper shares some features with the classic Mole Shopper scheme:

  • The scheme is played on a map that is completely filled in, so that worms start the game in small holes;
  • A selection of digging tools are provided in unlimited quantity, notably the Mole Bomb from which the scheme gets its name;
  • Transport tools are typically restricted in their availability;
  • Most weapons are provided only in crates.

Kaos Mole Shopper builds on this foundation with Extended Scheme Options (previously RubberWorm features). The precise settings of the scheme can vary considerably, as it is not an established scheme and has not featured in leagues, but the following differences usually apply:

  • All weapons are turned up to extreme power settings;
  • Instead of the usual 696x1920 map, a much larger map is used, to compensate for the destructive power of the scheme's weapons;[1]
  • "Shot Doesn't End Turn" is enabled, allowing worms to take unlimited shots;
  • "Crate Rate" is set high, allowing more than one crate to appear at once;
  • "Crate Limit" is set high, allowing the map to fill with many more crates than the usual limit of 5;
  • A small number of Jet Packs, with unlimited fuel, are provided;
  • (certain variations) "Crate Shower" is enabled, allowing crates to arrive continuously.

Because players must rely entirely on crates to build their arsenal, games using this scheme typically begin with a race to create, control, and protect cavernous openings in which crates have space to appear. The high-powered moles are easily capable by themselves of creating a space large enough for a crate to appear, but players will often use their collected weapons to invest further in ever larger holes.

Players will usually make an effort over the course of the game to climb up the map and gain a height advantage over their opponents, as this gives them an advantageous position from which to travel and collect crates and attack opponents, avoid attacks by their opponents, and avoid the fast flooding of Sudden Death. However, powerful airstrikes make the top of the map a very dangerous place to be.

No rules are used when playing the scheme.

History

RubberWorm versions of most schemes appeared shortly after RubberWorm was released in August 2008.

RubberWorm Mole Shopper appeared sometime between then and February 2009.

The scheme got added in HostingBuddy on April 4, 2021 as "Kaos Mole Shopper".[1]
