The parachute is useful for hang gliding to an other location, or getting down without recieving fall damage.
You can also drop some weapons by selecting them in your inventory while gliding, then press enter to release the weapon.
The parachute is affected by the wind, however, you can control the parachute slightly with the arrowkeys. Holding right or left will cause the worm to push against the direction you pressed. Pressing down will cause the parachute to sink faster. Pressing up will cause it to glide for a longer period of time. Pressing nothing will cause the parachute to glide only affected by gravity and wind.
Your turn does not end using this utility.
Tactics
- Always have the parachute equipped if you're jumping/walking down a high plateau - The parachute will activate automaticly before the height to recieve falling damage has been reached.
- If there is heavy winds, you can do a backflip and then activate the parachute in mid air. Pressing up and in the wind direction will cause you to glide very far.
- If you are hanging in a Ninja rope, equipping the parachute can be your only way out of you want to knock down a worm by releasing the rope. The parachute will activate automaticly when you're falling.
Criticisms, Problems and Weaknesses
- The auto-activation of a parachute when you're falling, can be deadly. If you fall, and activates it manually, there is a chance that the auto activation was before you, causing the parachute to release when you press.
- To get to places at your own height, you need to have alot of wind.
