:At one point, I wanted to write a program which could convert the subset of RTF used in ReadMe to other formats, such as MediaWiki, vBcode and HTML, so we could publish the ReadMe or fragments of it more easily. Didn't get very far (due to lack of time) though... I might pick it up again for the next Beta's release, since the changelog is huge. --[[User:CyberShadow|Vladimir]] 00:24, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

I had previously considered transcribing the ReadMe to the wiki a mostly unwarranted effort (considering that it'd need to be updated with new releases, including changes in older changelogs such as typo/terminology fixes. However, I've lately realised that having an abbreviated list of things added in W:A Betas can be very useful; I've linked to this page a few times. So, thanks for taking the time to "transcribe" it. --Vladimir 21:47, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Actually, for "changes in older changelogs such as typo/terminology fixes", I can do that by just diff'ing the two readme files. Since the readme is in RTF format, I usually convert it to plain text before diff'ing. Most parts of the readme in WKB (example) are updated by me in such way. --Explorer09 14:24, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
At one point, I wanted to write a program which could convert the subset of RTF used in ReadMe to other formats, such as MediaWiki, vBcode and HTML, so we could publish the ReadMe or fragments of it more easily. Didn't get very far (due to lack of time) though... I might pick it up again for the next Beta's release, since the changelog is huge. --Vladimir 00:24, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Google is our friend. Some RTF to HTML programs already exist. :D --Explorer09 13:36, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
I'm aware of them, of course, however they often produce bloated HTML and do not resolve the case for other formats. There are some other intricacies, for example nested lists in the ReadMe are simulated by simply changing the paragraph alignment. --Vladimir 13:43, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
