The Mortar is fired like the Bazooka, except that the power applied to the shot is fixed. The Mortar follows projectile motion and explodes on impact, releasing a handful of cluster bomblets that also explode on impact.

Tactics

  • When fired upwards at its steepest angle - which is not vertical - the Mortar will land a short distance away when it reaches the same altitude at which it was fired (approximately 240 pixels). This distance can be remembered, allowing this shot to be easily repeated with predictable results.
  • When fired directly down into the ground, the clusters will explode simultaneously on the worm. This suicide move can achieve a lot of injury on an enemy if the enemy is caught up in the explosion.
  • Can be fired from Ninja Rope, Jet Pack, Parachute, and Bungee.

Criticisms, Problems and Weaknesses

  • The Mortar rarely achieves any significant damage by itself except in rare circumstances.
