| |
− | [[WormNET]] is one of the best sides of Worms. But it could be better. Much better.
| |
| | | |
− | == Account system ==
| |
− | Option for playing anonymously still should exists, but users with accounts should have privileges, such as:
| |
− | * Ranking and entering special ranked channels
| |
− | * Buddy lists and all related features
| |
− | * Joining already started games as a spectator
| |
− |
| |
− | == Hosting and joining games ==
| |
− | Now you can host not only private and public games, but also buddy-only (see below). Also, now you can set maximal amount of players (up to 8) and spectators (nearly unlimited). These amounts will be displayed in games list, alongside with current amount of players and spectators, hoster's nickname and scheme.
| |
− | === Spectating ===
| |
− | If you only want to watch game, but not play, you may mark yourself as a spectator. To do that, you simply need to press the new, eye button, instead of normal bulb button. You can also join already started games as a spectator. To do that, you need to toggle on the option "Show already started games". They will be showed greyed out.
| |
− | === Changed schemes ===
| |
− | Of game detects that host changed some parameters of scheme they using, it would mark it (both in lobby and games list) with a star, and more changes they do, the bigger star would be. Its color also would change ( blue <> red). After hovereing it, you would get a list of changes. However, if there's too much changes, you will see only most important ones (like worms are now immortal or there's infinity turn time). Other parameters would be showed only after clicking on it.
| |
− |
| |
− | == Players list ==
| |
− | Now player's nicknames are colored differently, depending on their status: white - online, grey - snooper, yellow - away, red - busy (is there a reason for using that?), green - playing (initially toggled off, but you can toggle it on in the settings if you want to see them), blue - in the lobby (toggled off aswell). Special people will be highlighted with special colors, like buddies - orange, moderators - grey, developers - red. If you don't want to be showed online, you can toggle that option, so no one would be able to see you.
| |
− |
| |
− | == Ranking ==
| |
− | Ranking system was already a thing, but went unused. Originaly, it contains 12 ranks, but I think it should contain 20, just like in deathmatches. The higher rank was the player you beated, the more points you will get, and vice versa. At some point, you will stop receiving points from too low ranked players, so you will need to fight against more advanced ones, to avoid farming points on noobs, against which easy, even thought long fight.
| |
− |
| |
− | == Buddy list ==
| |
− | A friend system. Buddies' games are highlighted with orange, as well as themselves in the players list, and you can sent them private messages throught the command /bud, both in channels, lobbies and games. As mentioned previously, now you can host not only private and public games, but also buddy-only
| |
− |
| |
− | == Moderators ==
| |
− | Trusted users, that are able to:
| |
− | * Ban other users
| |
− | * Locking channels from chatting and creating games
| |
− | * Closing and removing any games
| |
− | * Hide other users' messages
| |
− |
| |
− | == Channels ==
| |
− | === General ===
| |
− | * #AnythingGoes - basic channel with low limits. You only cannot use too advanced functions, such as changing physics
| |
− | * #Sandbox - no limits! Host any game you want! For obvious reason, you cannot receive points here
| |
− | * #ModZone - for modded games with new weapons, objects, mechanics etc. Also cannot receive points
| |
− | * #ClassicWormage - as close to the [[Worms Armageddon]], as possible. For example, there's no new weapons
| |
− | === Special schemes only ===
| |
− | * #RopersHeaven - for rope based schemes
| |
− | * #RacersHeaven - for racing schemes
| |
− | * #ShoppersHeaven - for [[Shopper]] scheme and all subtypes of it (e.g. [[Bungee Shopper]]), where you, at the most part, can only get weapons and utilities throught crates
| |
− | * #RubberWorm - for advanced scheme options based schemes, mainly [[Kaos Normal]]
| |
− | === Ranked ===
| |
− | * #ProRoom - for rank 10+ owners
| |
− | * #EliteRoom - for the Elite, final rank owners
| |
− | === Talking only ===
| |
− | * #Help - for asking questions and helping other users
| |
− | * #Lounge - for developers and moderators' private talking.
| |

| |
− | == Scribling ==
| |
− | This feature allows you to draw on the screen. Tools are very simple and limited: brush with multiple sizes, few shapes (line, arrow, circle, square), eraser and limited number of colors (all raindow ones + black, grey and white).
| |
− |
| |
− | These are multiple scribling types: general is visible for everyone, team is visible only for players with the same team color as you, and buddy is visible only for buddies.
| |
− |
| |
− | You can hide scribling for certain or all players, and also its transparecy, if someone abuses that function.
| |
− |
| |
− | == Kicking, banning and reporting ==
| |
− | Kicking is a nice function, but what if someone is very agressively trying to play with you? Banning them would not only KICK them out of your game, but also deny all new attempts to join it. Additionally, now players can be kicked while playing. To do it, certain number if people should vote for that. For obvious reason, kicking while playing is impossible while playing 1v1.
| |
− |
| |
− | Also, if someone not just acting annoying, but being racist, sexist etc, spamming in the chat, or griefing, you can report them. If user gets too much reports, it will get temporary banned, until moderators will decide what to do with them.
| |
− |
| |
− | == Quitting ==
| |
− | It's really a problem, and not only in Worms. The best solution I can offer, is if game detects that player leaves too often, it'll temporary ban them, and the more it leaves, the longer is ban. If game detects that you playing normal for long enough, your next potential ban length will be decreased. If you have a real reason to leave the game, it wouldn't be a bug problem for you. But for quitters, it will be a problem to wait longer and longer each time to play. Moreover, if you get too big ban time, moderators may become interested in you, so you're risking being banned for much longer, or forever.
