The '''Petrol Bomb''' is a projectile weapon which is thrown like a grenade and explodes on impact. The petrol bomb has a very small explosion but releases a small quantity of fire which will try to spread on the ground from the explosion crater in both directions, being affected by wind and nearby explosions. Each turn the flames fade away a bit, shrinking in size. However, four and five turns after the Petrol Bomb was thrown, they are as small and sparse as they get, after which they disappear. Worms touching the flames will also gradually decrease the flames' size and thus their lifespan.

== Tricks and glitches ==
* When the invincible worms cheat is on, touching the flames will not end a worm's turn.
* Existing flames can be thrown around by explosions. The bigger the explosion, the longer-lasting and larger the affected flames will become.
* When in the smallest form, a few of the centermost initial flames can be walked over with no effect.
* A Petrol Bomb can be [[Floating weapon glitch|placed on a worm's head using the Ninja Rope]].
The '''Double Damage''' instant effect utility doubles explosion damage during the turn this powerup is collected. Be careful though - the explosion radius is increased on all explosives. It's easy to harm your own worms if you're not careful.
Double Damage does not have any effect on the [[Battle Axe]]. Picking up a second crate of Double Damage in one turn has no effect either.
On your wormnet server list, FoeXnet should link to wormnet.foex-gaming.com , not wormsnet.foex-gaming.com (This is why it appears to be down).
:And where did you get that information? http://wormnet.foex-gaming.com/ gives the same page as if you enter any invalid 3rd-level subdomain, like http://nonexistant-abcdef.foex-gaming.com/ - and besides, they don't have an IRC server running on either of the two hosts. == protecting pages ==

I've decided to protect the "installing on linux" pages so no one can tamper with them maliciously. The same ought to be done with other installation pages, really; anyone could change the link to the beta .exe with a link to a virus. I don't think there is actually any threat of this happening, but having the "locked article" message at the top of the page will at least let users know that the instructions and links are safe to use.

tl;dr version: MadEwokHerd needs sysop priveliges so he can edit the linux pages as he sees fit :)
== Bug Report (problems with registration on Team17 forum) ==

I tried to register on Team17 forum and report bug there, but I didn't recieve registration e-mail. I tried to register two times - first with unstable e-mail adress, which doesn't work sometimes, and second time with my Gmail. It was about two hours ago, and I still didn't recieve mail in both adresses. I didn't find "resend activation email" button.

So, that bug - I played Bow and Arrow online today. My team have custom grave set with TeamED. It looks like oil drum. When one of my worms died, someone thought that it is real oil drum and shoot at it with bow. Then, it fell through terrain and into water. I uploaded that replay here, sorry that I didn't asked for that, but its only for this use (to show you that bug). [http://worms2d.info/Image:Custom_grave_bug_about_11.20.WAgame Replay here] --—Preceding [[w:Wikipedia:Signatures|unsigned]] comment added by [[User:Drury|Drury]] ([[User talk:Drury|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Drury|contribs]])

:It's not a bug, it's a design choice. If the grave intersects with land, it will fall through. Arrows create land pixels when they impact land. The alternative would be to have the arrow magically vanish. It's pretty cool, though, that an animated "oil drum" grave turns into the correct "sinking oil drum" sprite when it hits the water. --[[User:CyberShadow|Vladimir]] 21:52, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
== RE: Weapon Cquotes ==
I can see your point. But on the other hand we need to really improve the weapon articles, especially usage and tactics. Some now tell only how the weapon works. Could there be a nav template in the end of each weapon article (like weapons in second generation or something) so it could be easy to switch between weapons? --[[User:Tiku-Orava|Tiku-Orava]] 13:03, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
:A nav template? Sure, I can help. --[[User:Explorer09|Explorer09]] 13:38, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
::I don't see how adding quotes would improve weapon articles. Also, where do you get these "quotes" from? I see [[Mole_Bomb|some]] [[Airstrike|of]] [[Priceless_Ming_Vase|them]] are from their Wormopedia entries, but [[Holy_Hand_Grenade|not]] [[Prod|all]]. That doesn't make sense. Adding extra info '''as long as they are true, make sense and have value''' is okay, but people are not coming here to see quotes they could (mostly) read in their original... habitat. == Russian ReadMe ==

While translating the W:A ReadMe, I've stumbled upon a few things that were not entirely understandable (to me, at any rate). I suppose it would not be good to have any haphazard things in the ReadMe, so would you mind answering some questions? [[User:Cb14|Cb14]] 16:40, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
:I should have probably brought this to light earlier, however there have been at least two Russian ReadMe translation efforts so far. I believe one of them was done independently on the worms.org.ua forums for the exclusive means to be included with a pirate compilation of W:A. The other was done by Mr.X and myself and hasn't actually been completed (IIRC we got stuck on the proofreading/corrections stage), however for the love of everything I can't find it. All I can find is the translated 3.6.28.0 section, [http://dump.thecybershadow.net/adaac6d67c77565c153f3a8592d413c8/WA_Readme-3.6.28.0_Beta_russian.doc.7z here]. == Criticism ==

I think as an admin and one of the people who do updates in the versions of WA, you shouldn't treat people as you are doing. I think nobody likes to receive a correction summary like this: "WTF FoxHound?!". It is not the first time that you do this. I did not invent that edition in [[Team17 (scheme)]] page, i played with players that use this rule to the game, and even kicked me when i used rope knocking during the game. Maybe in the past when you played nobody used to use this rule, but things change. If you want to discuss my edit please, use the talk page. Do not put those summary corrections as you are doing, use the summary part to describe your edit. I know that my english sucks and that i'm always forgetting things in my edits. Maybe you hate me, maybe not, maybe you hate brazilians like many people in WormNET. I think the editors should respect each other, or if you don't agree with me, as an admin you can ban me. But put in mind that i'm giving my best and even with my problems i'm editting often in this wiki. Particularly i think that my edits are not useless and few players spent their time to edit pages here. Sorry if I'm being too bold, but could not keep quiet. [[User:FoxHound|FoxHound]] 02:21, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
:Foxhound, please don't mention about your nationality here. I, and maybe everybody in the community, won't think it is a fault that you're a Brazilian, although the not-so-proper English sometimes does annoy us. --[[User:Explorer09|Explorer09]] 05:36, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
:Dear FoxHound, despite that you may have been correct regarding the Team17 "no rope knocking rule" (which was probably added a long time ago by someone who had no idea what he was doing and further dragged along by "tradition"), I am honestly sick and tired with dealing people like you on this wiki, who instead of (almost) unilaterally improving the content add wrong/unsourced/unargumented statements and text ridden with spelling/grammatical errors - changes which do not improve the overall quality. You probably don't realize (or care) that inaccuracies on this wiki may be held against '''me''' should I post links to it in an official or sensitive context. Also, please, ''please'' don't tell me how I should behave - being in my position where you have to deal with a job, maintaining W:A, maintaining the WormNET bots, maintaining the wormy websites I host and the server which hosts it all, answering W:A support forum threads, taking the time to talk to everyone who writes me e-mails or PMs me on WormNET, and convincing Team17 to keep W:A alive, makes my life stressful enough and I think I would rather just politely ask you to leave rather than having to deal with this crap. --[[User:CyberShadow|Vladimir]] 11:08, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

I see. So all of my edits here were not recognized. That's why there is few people editting here in this wiki. If you edit something, you'll not helping the wiki, you will be giving work to the editors, because even if you speak english, they need to review all of your edits, and that's "bad". You have a lot of work, but the other editors work too, they study too, so you are not the only person with lots of things to do. Maybe you wrote me to leave just because if you ban me, all of my time ''wasted'' and your time correcting me here, will disappear and if i just leave, my edits will stay. I'll stop editting here, because i'll not edit to people say that my edits are a crap. Maybe you are just nervous, because you are working too much. Sorry, if i said to you how you should act, that was just my opinion. I recognize all of your importance in the Worms, i like your work, maybe if weren't you, W:A wouldn't exist anymore. But i'm disapointed with your decision. Maybe i'll stop playing Worms too, knowing that the one who are updating W:A think I'm spoiling. [[User:FoxHound|FoxHound]] 14:33, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

I like FoxHound's work here. He actively adds new content. If that content sometimes happens to get classified as "crap", then it gets deleted, or if it's inaccurate or misspelled, it gets corrected. Sounds like how a wiki works, you know? I wish we had more bold people, so us not-so-bold watchers of recent changes would have more stuff to do. --[[User:Maska|Maska]] 19:48, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Maskahttps://worms2d.info/?title=Article_melioration_and_assessment&diff=15890Article melioration and assessment2010-07-06T14:22:10Z
Maska: /* Task list */ Removed SD triggering, as it's verified as random (Talk:Sudden_Death).

* Minimum standard for '''adequate''' rating:
** Suitably comprehensive description, with rules and variations if applicable
** Setup infobox with scheme download
* If a scheme is largely devoid of strategy, the article need not have an entire section for it. Mentioning the lack of strategy (and covering what little strategy there is) is sufficient.

* ''Description'' should contain
** what the program does
** a list of the most significant features (or all of them if not too many)
** a short userguide (or complete userguide if not too long)
** limitations, and comparisons with alternatives
* ''Future plans'' is considered complete if the article mentions that:
** the program is obsolete or
** the program is 'complete' and likely has no room for improvement or
** the creator has stopped working on the program
* ''History'' is considered complete if the article gives an approximate date of creation and mentions any major milestones in the program's history.
The Homing Missile is launched like a [[Bazooka]], and homes in on a target selected using the cursor prior to launch. The Homing Missile locks onto the target shortly after it is launched. The attraction is not particularly strong; the Homing Missile will often enter a large arcing path as it approaches the target, and if it does not collide with something, it will begin orbiting the target in an ellipse. The target marker eventually disappears and the attraction ends, leaving the Homing Missile to ordinary projectile motion.

== Tactics ==
* The Homing Missile does not sink; it can be fired underwater. If it goes too deep, however, it will disappear.
* With experience, it is fairly easy to judge how the arcing motion of the Homing Missile on any particular shot will affect its accuracy, allowing the player to compensate by placing the target marker a short distance away from the intended target.
* Can be fired from [[Ninja Rope]], [[Jet Pack]],[[Parachute]] and [[Bungee]].

== Criticisms, Problems and Weaknesses ==
* Judging the path of the Homing Missile is initially very difficult.
* The missile doesn't lock in immediately, so using from tight spots can be difficult.

== Details ==
* The Homing Missile locks onto the target 0.5 seconds after launch.
* The target marker and the attraction disappears 4 seconds after launch.
* The Homing Missile explodes 10 seconds after launch.
* When fired straight up with max power, the lock on happens about 550px above the ground on launch spot.

== Tricks and glitches ==
* A Homing Missile can be shortly [[Floating weapon glitch|placed on a worm using the Ninja Rope]].

'''Deathmatch''' is a single player mode that has ranks and uses the [[Intermediate]] scheme. Every victory will increase your team's rank, but if the match is a draw or you lose, your rank will decrease. == Welcome ==
You are my favorite type of editor. Please continue editing grammar and fixing details wherever you can. I looked over your work on FoxHound's article, and it's quite well-done. I wanted to commend you and encourage you to continue. -[[User:Lex|Lex]] 15:05, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
'''TeamED''' is the first and only [[team file]] editor for W:A and WWP. It allows players to edit any part of a W:A or WWP team, including sections of the team file which are not editable by W:A's and WWP's internal team editors. It was written by [[Annelid]] in 2003. Some of its features are a little buggy, like the training-best-times-editing feature, which often does not write the correct user-defined time into the team file, but the main features all work properly.

Since the data for cheats unlocked in [[Worms Armageddon]] is stored in the [[Team file|team file]], TeamED made cheat-unlocking programs such as [[Full Wormage Unlocker]] and [[WACE]] obsolete due to its full team-editing ability.

== History ==
TeamED originally had a different name, layout, and purpose in its early stages of development. Annelid had given it the unusual name ''Buttfats & Parsnips'' and intended it to only work with W:A team files. He decided to include WWP support into the program after noting how similiar W:A and WWP team files were to each other. He chose to redesign the layout of the program because of a misunderstanding that developed when an untrustable individual leaked him a version of [[EthoCryptic]]'s never released TeamEddy program. This, in the end, worked out to be for everyone's benefit. The new design for TeamED was much better and it incorporated many snazzy features that TeamEddy had.
Maskahttps://worms2d.info/?title=Buttfats_%26_Parsnips&diff=15209Buttfats & Parsnips2010-06-06T16:33:19Z
Maska: Undo revision 10717 by Explorer09 (Talk)

==Weapon icons==
First of all, thank you for your active and industrious work on WKB.

I would like to ask why you changed the weapon boxes to resample all icons larger than 48x48 down to 48x48. (Admittedly Weapon_longname was a quick hack, but I thought the fix would've been to give Template:Weapon a width parameter.) Doing a marginal resample like this creates a significant amount of blurring, and if 48x48 is indeed going to be the size limit on weapon info box icons, then I will want to recreate all the extra-large icons at 48x48 so that they don't have to be doubly resampled. But please, explain to me why 64x64 is too large.

[[User:Deadcode|Deadcode]] 00:47, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

:1. Because I'm using 1024x768 resolution, and I usually think that the 48x48 icons in Windows Explorer looks good for me. However, if you prefer, you can change them to 64x64 (and I don't mind that).

:Also, if you can ''find'' and upload images whose size are multiples of 64 (like 128x128 or 192x192), do so. Because it'll be less blurry when down-sampling.
:[[User:Explorer09|Explorer09]] 07:46, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

::EDIT: If you can't, it's recommended to upload the largest image and let MediaWiki scale it down. [http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Media_for_cleanup#Pictures_that_are_scaled_down_from_their_original_resolution]

::[[User:Explorer09|Explorer09]] 07:46, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

:2. The Template:Weapon now uses the Width parameter as you wish. (I'm just learning how to use some template functions so I know how to change it.)

:Thanks.

== [[:Category:People]] ==

Hi, what's the purpose of the People category, and its advantage over the URL classification, as well as the change to how auto-listing on [[Community]] works? A category seems to imply additional maintenance effort, how is it justified? I noticed that your change shortened the list considerably, so the logical follow-up would be to add <nowiki>[[Category:People]]</nowiki> to every People/* page, but why is this effort necessary in the first place? --[[User:CyberShadow|Vladimir]] 15:13, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

:Because I found something that might confuse the reader. First, not all persons' articles are subpages of "'''People'''" (page titles begin with "'''People/*'''"); some pages are in the '''User''' namespace, which would not be shown on the list unless a redirect is made. Second, some people have 2 or more nicknames. Therefore sometimes 2 or more People/* pages will be made to redirect to the same user (take [[User:Glide|Glide]] for example), that would make duplicated items on the old list.

:For the reasons above, I decided to make a Category to clean things up. Actually, adding a page to [[:Category:People]] isn't that hard. You may have noticed that I've modified the [[Template:ParentArticle|ParentArticle]] template so that EVERY page that is "up to [[People]]" will be listed in the category. So, just add <nowiki>{{ParentArticle|[[People]]}}</nowiki> and that's it.

:--[[User:Explorer09|Explorer09]] 15:51, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

::I still don't like your change. The correct thing to do to achieve what you wanted would be to either add redirects from People/* to User:* for people who only have a User page, or to hack the plugin to simply merge all User:* and People/* pages and ignore all redirects. However, I don't even think that people with just a User: page should even be on the list. The User: page is regarding the Worms Knowledge Base, and not a biography of their wormy history. But your change has actually removed people from the final list, and you haven't fixed this shortcoming with the fixes you suggested. --[[User:CyberShadow|Vladimir]] 19:19, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

:::I don't quite understand what you mean. First, not all User pages are in the category, are they? If you think a page should not be listed in the category, feel free to remove that ParentArticle template. (Also feel free to move the pages if you wish to make distinction between "People/*" directory and "User:*" namespace.)

:::Second, thank you for telling me this issue. I've re-added the missing "People/*" pages I found to the list. [[User:Explorer09|Explorer09]] 13:44, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

::::Actually, never mind what I said about the purpose of the User: namespace, I don't think anyone actually uses it for that purpose. The distinction I suggested [http://worms2d.info/?title=User_talk:Balee&diff=prev&oldid=12066 elsewhere] - which hypocritically conflicts with this one - works better. Thanks. --[[User:CyberShadow|Vladimir]] 14:03, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

== PNG optimization ==

Just curious, have you been using PNGOUT for your png optimization? I notice you've gotten small sizes that pngcrush cannot acheive, and not even AdvanceCOMP or OptiPNG can acheive. I also noticed by experimenting with some parameters, that PNGOUT can acheive even smaller sizes than you've been getting, even preserving chunks (not that it'd be worth reuploading the images for such small improvements). Too bad it's closed source. —[[User:Deadcode|Deadcode]] 23:24, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

:Well, I used a combination of 4 programs to optimize the images: OptiPNG, AdvDef from AdvanceCOMP, PNGOUT, and DeflOpt. And you are right; there ''is'' PNGOUT included in. The idea was taken from [http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Preparing_images_for_upload#PNG_tips here], so the "/ks" switch is used in order to preserve the setting from OptiPNG.

:By the way, can the image be even smaller by removing the "/ks" switch? I haven't tested that yet. --[[User:Explorer09|Explorer09]] 07:57, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

You should stop removing optional chunks. They contain interesting information, like creation and modification dates. They also contain color profiles (although if they're sRGB, I suppose it's fine to remove them, if you do so without removing the other chunks). I suppose if you're optimizing something that was already uploaded, the old version is still there; but if you're uploading something for the first time, the chunks will be lost. —[[User:Deadcode|Deadcode]] 10:03, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

: Thanks, I'll be careful next time. (However, I've only uploaded screenshots and icons as new images, and I don't think the optional chunks were needed.) --[[User:Explorer09|Explorer09]] 12:16, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
== Regarding User and Talk pages ==

Hello there. I just thought I'd drop by and mention that editing other people's posts on talk pages, even for the sake of grammatical correction, is kinda disrespectful. The fact that you '''can''' do it doesn't mean you '''should''' do it. Same goes for the User pages, editing that is, unless in some special cases, the user's job, not outsiders' - although I vaguely remember someone telling you this before, I'm just saying just in case.
Otherwise have fun editing.
[[User:Balee|Balee]] 08:18, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

:I think it is free to correct other one's post as long as you tell him/her why you made such edits. And you may have noticed that CyberShadow has edited your post ([http://worms2d.info/?title=User_talk:Explorer09&diff=12036&oldid=12035]) before I made this reply. --[[User:Explorer09|Explorer09]] 12:18, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
:@Cybershadow: Are you agreeing what I said? (because you edited my post, too) --[[User:Explorer09|Explorer09]] 12:40, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
::I just did it for satirical value. I don't have a strong opinion either way, as I'm usually too lazy to edit others' talk messages. --[[User:CyberShadow|Vladimir]] 12:47, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
Why the additional anchor, and why that entry specifically? --[[User:CyberShadow|Vladimir]] 02:02, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
:Because, too many people have that kind of problem, don't they? I made a shortcut so that people can easily link to it.[[User:Explorer09|Explorer09]] 02:11, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
::Well, as you can see there already are automatic anchors to all sections, and it's easy to get a link to it using the table of contents. I just think we should avoid useless clutter and duplicate functionality whenever we can. --[[User:CyberShadow|Vladimir]] 02:20, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
::BTW, IMHO it'd be simpler to just create a [[Colours]] page that links to the ToC anchor.--[[User:CyberShadow|Vladimir]] 02:21, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
I do not know whether this concept is known by the scene, but it seems too abstract and kind of self promoted. --[[User:Maska|Maska]] 15:17, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
Maskahttps://worms2d.info/?title=Talk:Picking_up_worms_using_NR&diff=15205Talk:Picking up worms using NR2010-06-06T15:13:32Z
Maska: Proposal for deletion

One thing I want to tell you: When editing the article, please don't add links that link to the article itself.
The Mole is an animal weapon which runs and hops around the terrain when released, until activated by the space bar or after 10 seconds of running. At this point it leaps into the air in an arc, digging through any terrain it contacts. The apex of the tunnel is roughly 140px above the level of activation, with low gravity doubling that. The arc's shape isn't affected by whether the mole is flying through the air or digging.

When digging or flying, the Mole detonates on one of these four conditions:
* It's manually detonated with space
* It has dug for 20 seconds
* It collides with an object(worm/barrel/crate)
* It collides with anything after it has dug through some ground.

== Stockpiling ==

Depending on the scheme, [[stockpiling]] can be on/crescent; anti/decrescent; or off. Unlimited weapons are never lost or earned by stockpiling.

===Stockpiling modes===

* '''Stockpiling off''', ''Your ammo is restocked each round but any items remanining from the last round are lost.'' I.e. using or collecting weapons during a round will have no effect on your arsenal for the next round.

* '''Stockpiling on''', ''Recieve new ammo stocks on each round and keep remaining items from the previous round.'' I.e. by saving ammo you will have more for the next round.

* '''Stockpiling anti''', ''You only get one set of ammo and it has to last the entire match!'' The scheme [[One_of_Everything|One of Everything]] acts as a good example for this mode.

[[Image:Donor Card.png|frame|A Donor Card crate]]

When a team dies with [[Donor Card]] activated in the scheme settings, its last worm will spawn a Donor Card along with the grave normally created. The Donor Card contains all the [[Game_scheme_file#Super_weapons|super weapons]] and utilities the team had in its stock, whether they were collected during the game or there to start with. It does not contain any regular [[Weapons|weapons]].

The items picked up from a Donor Card are announced sequentially at the top of the screen, with the super weapons first in a seemingly random order and then the utilities in the order they appear in the weapon selection menu. If a Donor Card contains a lot of different items, the announcements list only the first 19 of them.

If the scheme has infinite ammo for an utility or a super weapon item, the pick up announcement will read ''-1x item name'' for that item. This has no effect.
Maskahttps://worms2d.info/?title=Game_scheme_file&diff=15178Game scheme file2010-06-05T14:59:37Z
Maska: /* Weapon list */ Added a separate heading for the list of super weapons.

The first scheme format version holds only the 45 regular weapons, and is 221 bytes in size. Version 2 of the format is 297 bytes in size and has added support for super weapon settings, totaling to 64 weapon records.

Each weapon setting structure is 4 bytes long and is as follows:
* 00 - ammo (1 byte, unsigned) - Note: A value of 0A will give unlimited ammunition.
* 01 - power (1 byte, unsigned)
* 02 - delay (1 byte, unsigned)
* 03 - crate probability (1 byte, unsigned)

'''Jet for Boom''' (or '''JfB''') is a scheme idea based on [[Hysteria]] where [[Jet Pack]] skills are important to play. In Jet for Boom, the worms are armed with only drop-and-run weapons. The artillery mode (anchor mode) is on and the worms must move and attack in the jet pack. Each turn lasts 4 seconds, and a health crate will appear, giving 35 HP to whoever collects it. 508% of Fall Damage forces all the players to land and hide very well, otherwise they will fall and lose a lot of HP (and 155HP of initial health is not too much). The only explosive unlimited weapon of the game is [[Dynamite]] with power 1, so it no longer has a good explosion to launch worms into the water. There are only 3 [[mine]]s that deal more damage than [[Dynamite]] ([[mine]]s power = 14) and can launch worms easily to the water. The only Low Gravity of the game can be combined with the 3 explosive weapons and is perfect for launching worms in to the water. The most powerful weapon of this game is the only [[Ming Vase]] (with delay = 5) which should not be wasted. When the [[Sudden Death]] strikes in (80 seconds), no more health crates will appear and the water will rise. The 5 seconds of retreat time with the [[Jet Pack]] are very helpful to hide and get crates.

== Map ==
Choosing an open island map without closed places or too tiny spaces allows [[Jet Pack]] to go through anywhere. Bridges and other map objects may close areas of the map, so setting "1" to Bridge and Terrain object counts in [[Map Editor Guide|Map Editor]] is recomended.

== Tips and strategies ==

=== Jet Pack ===

==== Deactivating the Jet Pack ====

# Pressing space resets all horizontal velocity, which is handy for landing on isolated pixels where you are a difficult target.
# Running out of [[Jet Pack]]'s retreat time keeps the worm's movement. This can be useful if landing with no care about whether the worm will fall by hitting or sliding on the terrain. It is good for landing in difficult places.

==== Jet Pack's fuel ====

When a worm is in a lower place, going higher will require a lot of fuel. Bear this in mind, as running out of fuel and taking a fall with the 508% of fall damage ''may'' kill your worm. Another choice is to attack a worm in a lower place and use the retreat time to get up.

==== The Jet Pack's Retreat Time ====

It can be used to push mines onto the enemy, collect health crates, receive more time to escape, and cover for the loss of fuel.

==== Dropping explosives back ====

Sometimes when you drop an explosive forward, it hits your worm and does not fall as you had aimed. A good way to avoid this is by releasing the explosive with the worm facing back.

=== Ming Vase ===

It can be very useful when you are about to lose, or when you need to kill a worm with a lot of HP. Use the [[Ming Vase]] when a group of your opponents' worms are close to each other (for the clusters kill everybody). It can also be helpful when placed underneath a worm with a lot of HP to make all the clusters explode at once (the same way as the [[Cluster Bomb]]'s trick), making the worm fly very high and receiving a lot of damage.

=== Mines ===

# They deal a good amount of damage and are very useful for launching worms in to the water. Beware the limited ammo (x3) of them.
# If a mine didn't activate, remember where it is. If someone falls on it, it will not act as a terrain mine would, but instead will deal a lot more damage.

=== Dynamites ===

When you need more time to move, dropping a [[Dynamite|dynamite]] will activate the retreat time, giving you extra time to hide and collect crates. Dynamite's max damage is 58-59 (without fall damage). It is useful for dealing damage without wasting ammo.

=== Low Gravity ===

Useful for drowning the opponent's worms. It can be combined with:

# [[Ming Vase]]: The clusters will go onto a larger area and the probability to make a worm drown is very high.
# [[Mine|Mines]]: When the [[Mine|mine]] is well positioned, the probability to make a worm drown is high. If badly positioned: average.
# [[Dynamite|Dynamites]]: When the [[Dynamite|dynamite]] is well positioned, the probability to make a worm drown is average. If badly positioned: low.

=== Health crates ===

Giving 35HP to a worm for each crate, they can make a worm with very low HP become quite healthy again, giving a another chance for someone about to lose. They can also compensate for the increased fall damage, giving worms more HP to cope with the falls. If your opponent has little HP, don't leave crates left.

=== Fall damage ===

508% is more than 5x the normal fall damage, and this is really dangerous, so beware. Sometimes the fall damage is not activated, depending on the way that the worm fell. Usually when blood appears after a fall, it indicates that the Fall Damage was activated. It can be easily utilised to kill worms in high places (this can be used by the players as a strategy). A good protection against the fall damage is stocking up on HP, Health crates help a lot with that.

=== Using the hot keys ===

Due to the limited time to attack it is very important to choose your weapons fast, so learning all the required F-keys helps a lot.

=== Mines of the terrain ===

They can be be pushed by the [[Jet Pack]] to do an extra attack and if the player aims well or just has luck, they can make a combo in the attack. The players must be careful where they will land because their worm might land on a [[Mine|mine]].

=== Sudden Death ===

If your opponent has a lot of HP, waiting for the sudden death will be an easier way to kill worms (because the water will rise). On the other hand, [[Sudden Death]] can also be good for the player with a lot of HP, because Sudden Death stops the appearence of health crates, and does not give HP to the opponent.

=== Hiding far away from the opponent ===

It can be useful when you want to protect yourself against attacks, and search for health crates to receive more HP. This method can also make the opponent stop in the middle of the map (on a tentative to attack), making this way an easy method to attack him/her without recieving damage.
Maskahttps://worms2d.info/?title=Mole_Bomb&diff=13803Mole Bomb2010-01-24T17:49:13Z
Maska: The height of the arc is 140px and this isn't affected by terrain.

The Mole detonates on four conditions: it's manually detonated with space, it has dug for 20 seconds, it collides with an object(worm/barrel/crate), or it collides with anything after it has dug through some ground.
The Salvation Army is released like an [[Old Woman]], but with the possibility of manual detonation and a longer max fuse of 10 seconds. It explodes with the same power as [[Dynamite]](147px crater), and produces fragments that create 123px craters.

It moves at a constant speed of 2 pixels per 3 frames and doesn't jump. Upon colliding with a tall enough wall, it turns around an continues walking.
