Hi,
Please mind the huge warning at the top of the source code of the Troubleshooting FAQ page.
In particular, I'm concerned that your edit is not accompanied by any rationale. What problem were you experiencing that editing display modes helped? Also, the paragraph you added is worded in such a way that it could lead someone to believe that it applies to all Windows Vista/7 setups.
