Radiation is a worm state that works similar to poison. However, this state is only gained by standing in a radioactive area created by a Radiation Bomb. The worm can simply leave the radiated area and return to normal. Unlike being poisoned, the health taken off per turn is much larger than the mechanics of poison, though this depends on how contaminated an area is, and how close a worm is the center of the affected area. The loss of health per turn can range from 2 to 20. Also, the health is only taken off after the affected worm's turn, rather than all turns of worms on other teams.

Radioactive worms have a yellow hue, rather than the greenish hue that poison brings. They will also sneeze and cough in the same way a poisoned worm would. Radiation may also linger on a worm for 1 to 2 turns after leaving a radiated area. A health crate can remove the effect, but only if the worm is outside of the radiated area. Health crates will only give 50% of what they normally would on a radiated worm, yet still cure the radiation immediately after.
